Brussels sees no commercial sense in Russia’s N Stream-2 project

BRUSSELS, Nov 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline project has no commercial logic because there is still spare capacity in Nord Stream-1, E.U. Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete told PRIME on Thursday.

“From the point of view of supply safety for the European Union, it (Nord Stream-2) does not raise our safety because this is the same supplier, the same gas source,” Canete said.

“From the commercial point of view, we see no logic in a capacity overlap when there is capacity in Nord Stream. We have not changed our position.”
